Spa stance, as recommended by Elemis once children are in bed...

It’s Friday. The summer holidays are nearly over. You’re probably exhausted. (If not, why not?) And the weekend, alas, with children in tow is usually no different to the daily 9 to 5am. So those nice people at Elemis have arranged a little treat. We don’t do gratuitous plugs at blog angels & urchins because we don’t need to – if we like it, we talk about it. And we really like Elemis. The products are soothing, ultra moisturising, packed with essential oils to help you relax, and they smell great. The sizes are generous, and each package features a miniature size of another product to try – great for travelling, too.

We’ve got an Instant Refreshing Gel, a Skin Moisurising Milk Bath, Exotic Frangipani Monoi Moisure Melt and Japanese Camellia Oil Blend. All are safe to use during pregnancy (trust us, the Instant Refreshing Gel does untold good to those swollen ankles) and together the package is worth £119.

For your chance to win, visit angels & urchins’ competition area, then leave a comment below, telling us why you’re so exhausted after the summer. The mother who answers the competition question correctly, and who we consider the most tired and deserving, wins! Don’t forget to include your email address – it won’t be shown online, we’ll keep it secret, and won’t pass on your details to anyone else. We’ll show the best entries in the comments section, below. The winner will be revealed on 4th September 2009.

This weekend I am meeting up with 2 other families and going camping. So, 6 adults, 7 children, no electric, just gas cookers, tents, buckets, sun, crying, arguing, fun and wine!!
What more could a mummy ask for.

  2. G E M says:

Husband just been told he can’t get away for the weekend – for the second week in a row. So not feeling full of the joys of Friday at the moment.

  3. Alice Chaytor says:

I think Jo’s weekend sounds exhausting….she needs those ‘Pack its’ lists I saw on her website.

  4. Sue Hunt says:

In the past week my Hob has sprung a Gas Leak and has had to be disconnected, my Vaccuum Cleaner has given up the ghost, my car sprung a leak in the wheel cylinder which has had to be replaced and my dog has had 2 emergency visits to the vet after suffering from an allergy to something that we have yet to discover, altogether over £300 of unplanned expenditure and lots of running around to get everything sorted. I’m totally shattered.

  5. Melli says:

I feel I really need this… I’ve had nearly the full summer holidays of my son (and his friends!) – all with goldfish-level attention spans, in spite of my best intentions and ‘domestic goddess’ act! But, more importantly, I’m training to be a beauty therapist! This means I’m practising treatments on my friends and family, but not enjoying that wonderful, relaxing treatment myself! I’d love to have some fabulous Elemis products to use on myself, to feel de-stressed and pampered. Please?

  6. christine mcintyre says:

I am exhausted as we have a new baby in the family due any day and as the gran have been running back and forward covering over 100 miles every other day and also taking care of my darling grandson. Excited but exhausted

  7. Jennifer McMahon says:

2 months ago, I returned to work, following a year’s maternity leave. 2 months ago, my little girl decided to stop sleeping through the night, instead waking several times each night, for a feed or wanting comforting. I’m exhausted and in need of serious pampering!

  8. nicola simpson says:

  9. Clare Sadler says:

Working full time, hubby working away from home so being both parents at the moment….aagh

  10. Layla Fletcher says:

Im sooooo exhauseted with my daughter Ruby teething her sleeping pattern is out the window, with her waking all the time and being extreamly grumpy, poor thing, also her waking hours are full of crying where she is uncomfortable. I am also looking after my partner whose wisdom teeth are coming through, I think he is harder to look after than my daughter. Plus im going to the hospital every day to visit my step dad who had an accident and is in recovering. Plus im keeping an eye on my mum and her 3 dogs while my step dad is in hospital.

  11. HEATHER says:

Since my husband became disabled last year, through a routine operation, life has never been quite the same, holidays are gone, and with increased working hours just to keep a roof over our head, life as we know it has gone!!.

I have muddled through the summer with familys help, and if I am lucky enough to win, will donate my indulgence on my mother, without who I would’nt have managed.

    Thanks Mum xxx

  12. Alison Maclean says:

I’m exhausted as I work full time, look after my son and family and do all the housework. With the 6 week holidays I seem to have been running around all over, I would love a chance to pamper myself for a change

  13. katie devenish says:

I’m a pretend stand in mummy for my best friends 2 beautiful (noisy, exuberant, ticklish, messy, adventurous) children…a long summer of sun, rain and play is enough to tire any sane adult out…but not the children!
Stand in mummy and mummy need some essential oil aide…..

  14. Sonya Tinsley says:

I’ve just spent a weekend with my 5 month old daughter who’s teething and looking after my 92 year old Grandmother. Who in the last few years has broke both hips, shoulder & collarbone. It was very hard work, but I wouldn’t change it for the world!! They’re both 24 hour jobs which leaves no time for little old me. My whole summer has been doing this. My beauty routine at the moment consists of brushing my hair before I go to work. Essential oils sound just the pick me up I need!!

  15. Sophie says:

I’m exhausted because my husband has been on holiday from work for the last two weeks and he has been driving me mad!! He has been winding up the children, feeding them sweets and chocolate whenever I turn my back and leaving a trail of mess and dirty washing behind him like some kind of husband-snail!! I can’t wait for him to go back to work and leave me and our daughters in peace!!

  16. Nicky Russell says:

Bank Holiday for me means DIY (unfortunately). We’re in the process of renovating our bathroom. Today we’re stripping out shower and bath, and taking off tiles. . . Deep Joy ! . . . I will most certainly be need needing R&R and mega pampering by the end of today

  17. Sarah Arnett says:

I am a single mum to two young boys one has autism and after a long tiring summer holiday – we have not stopped! – I am in need of a good pamper the moment they go back to school!! I will miss them though…

  18. helen says:

I know we’re supposed to say why ‘we’ deserve the prize but i would like to pass it on to my sister in law who as i type is in labour with her first baby. She’s been harassed all summer so i think this would be a well deserved treat for her.

  19. jean says:

I haven’t had a holiday for 6 years , due to family commitments, so a taste of the exotic at home would be welcomed!

  20. Ann says:

I have just come back from a camping weekend — running around after children, cooking etc and I’m feeling totally shattered. I could really do with a nice relaxing time.

  21. Emma says:

Iam 39 weeks pregnant and due any day…I would love to win the Elemis getaway!
My ankles are swollen due to the heat, Elemis please send me a treat.

  22. Martina says:

I am pregnant (just in the feeling tired stage) and moving to another house. As my partner has just started a new job and can’t take time off, I am doing most of the packing and cleaning myself. And still working 4 nights a week!

  23. Kerry Riley says:

Last night my son came to stay for the night. He’s a hard up student and so typical mother, I made a big fry-up this morning, then we hit town and I was dragged around all of the shops – spent a fortune… then home to cook a big beef roast dinner with lots of different vegetable – again typical mum feeding my offspring at every opportunity!!

Now he has left and I feel my legs and feet ache and i feel very tired; I also feel a little sad that he’s gone but….seeing him has made my weekend; I feel shattered but very happy!!

  24. Debbie Curwen says:

I currently work 3 jobs plus enjoy writing as a hobby to earn a little spending money but it all takes up so much time I leave little for myself with kids to look after. I’ll be glad when its Christmas to see all that hard work put into smiles with gifts.

  25. Rachel Thompson says:

im expecting my first baby in December so feeling very unattractive
Tired and restless my sparkle has gone, please turn this duckling bcak into a swan :)

  26. Julie says:

Any extra help to improve my appearance is much appreciated. Having a toddler does nothing for your looks!!!

  27. Joanne Green says:

Well, like every mom, after the school Summer holidays…. we could all do with a break!!!!!!

    Good Luck Everyone.

  28. Helen says:

Any help to relax would be hugely appreciated , have 4 year old and 2 year old daughter , my 4 year old “baby” starts big school in 2 weeks and can’t get my head round it !! Also waiting for hospital appointment for my 2 year old , and husband just started new job …….. all fairly normal in life as a mum , but a bit of pampering wouldn’t hurt ;-)

  29. Caroline says:

I’ve just started up my own business… so this would be a lovely treat to relax!

  30. Colette says:

I’m just starting to get my head around life as a new Mum . . . My son is 4 & half weeks old and so far I’ve been inundated with visitors but everyone goes back to work this week (lots of my friends are teachers) but now is the time to start getting used to my new life. I’m still recovering from my section & going nuts not being able to drive & escape the house. A good dose of pampering would help to relieve the cabin fever and set me on my way to becoming a true yummy mummy . . .

  31. Kirsty says:

i would love to have some relaxing time

  32. Emma Mc says:

Reading these comments i just dont feel worthy of submitting a comment…=S gosh you ladies have it hard, feel for you xxxx

  33. Nicky says:

I have beenself employed as a hypnotherapist for 6 months now and I am loving being able to help other people to learn to relax and make changes in their lives. Have found that it is all too easy to concentrate on everyone else and forget that I also need a bit of me time and the chance to unwind and pamper myself!

  34. Clementina says:

I’m an exhausted mum of 5,
    busy wife,
please put some glamour in my life.

  35. Sorcha Hughes says:

I’ll put it this way: Rain. Twin boys. No back-up.

I’ll be picking bits of broken action figure out of my hair all autumn.

  36. Julie Cook says:

Returning to work after a year off has been hard, leaving my little one to go to a stressful job and returning home to cook clean wash I need a treat. I miss my little boy so much.

  37. Cat says:

I’m not sure why I’m so exhausted, but I’m finding I’m longing to curl up in bed in the afternoons at the weekend which a) is a bit weird, and b) is impossible anyway with a 3 and 5 year old!

  38. Cheryll says:

OMG where to start? I am feeling exhausted as I have a two year old and a two month old who both want be awake at different timesof the day (one all day, one all night :O).Sadly, I don’t have the end of the summer holidays to look forward to as neither of mine are old enough for school! Is it wrong to hope that I’ll slip into a coma for a few days??!! :)

  39. Sara says:

Been fighting off a viral infection all summer, been juggling work and child care arrangements, was too broke last month to properly celebrate my wedding anniversary, and it’s tipping it down here again today :(

Some Elemis would be a lovely way to end the ‘summer’ :)

  40. katrinao says:

I am a mum who works full time with a little one who just started school and a bigger one who suddenly got the flu after being at school 3 days! Feel like I’m on constant day and night shift. All I ask is a long hot bath and the relaxing scent of elemis goodies to float away with x

  41. toniq says:

Im exhausted running around after my madhouse, the mad dog we have is the easiest to deal with! Im also exhausted planning xmas and grabbing must have bits now, whilst trying to plan, a holiday for hubbys 40th next year, he is the most trickiest person to buy/plan for! though i do have halloween all prepared and sorted!

  42. LOUISE says:

Pampering needed as I am feeling aged

    would be simply BLISS
help restore my energy before I am completely faded

  43. Esther says:

It’s the end of the summer holidays with three kids and we’ve not been able to go away other than brief visits to family. I’m feeling knackered and I LOOK it too and winning this will give me the incentive I need to pamper myself a little over coming weeks before winter hits.

  44. Sue says:

I’m feeling exhautsed and need a pampering treat because… I’m a mum, need I say more!

No really, I have two children under 5 and a very busy husband, so I’m really feeling in need of a bit of pampering after the busy summer holidays. Our summer holidays have been even busier than usual as it’s my daughter’s first day at school tomorrow, so we have been dashing round getting school uniforms, school shoes, pe kits and name labels ready. She’s really looking forward to starting school, but I’m a little bit nervous, so a nice relaxing bath with these gorgeous Elemis goodies would really help to calm my nerves and relax me!

    Thanks.

  45. kirsty says:

    I have got swine flu,

  49. Jane Hope says:

What a lovely prize, yes yes yes please!! I love Elemis products – they are the creme de la creme.

  50. HELS says:

As well as having an 11 year old and a 3 year old, I also foster a 10 month old child (I have fostered children for several years). Very rewarding but competely knackered!!!!!:)
