Be a judging family for a Museum Award

Makes a fab pet - never needs feeding

Makes a fab pet - never needs feeding

We’ve probably all dragged the children around a museum that is more hush than happy in atmosphere. Which is why we’re applauding Kids in Museums. They’re not proposing to turn the little darlings into exhibits, but are trying to ensure that the entire family has a great time. Their laudable vision is for all families to be welcomed in Britain’s museums and galleries. Get on their website to find out how they’re making this happen, and you can even sign up to be a judging family for this year’s Guardian Family Friendly Museum Award. In the meantime, get visiting one of Britain’s incredible, and usually free, museums. We’ve got a few ideas here to inspire, and keep visiting our What’s On section to find out about new exhibitions and events as they happen. You could almost say there will be no more scenes at the museum…

Thank you Valerie and Fanciful Alice – really pleased you like the idea of a night (well, a day…) at the museum!

I am glad to have found this manifesto. I have been taking my son to museums and art galleries since he was two and he loves it so I have recently started to write a feature on museums every tuesday on my blog to point out kids events taking place in museums around the country.
