80 Lego bricks for every person


For every person in the world there are now 80 LEGO bricks… 

This is not news to me.

There are now reckoned to be 565 billion bricks of the world's most popular toy, which translates into 80 bricks for every person alive today. That's a lot of primary coloured plastic. LEGO has been producing bricks since 1949 and 980 million bricks are produced every year.  A staggering figure, though as I said, I'm not particularly surprised. Most of the 565 billion bricks seem to be in my house, as you can see from the picture, below.
