A traditional prep with an outdoorsy, sporty feel. Co-ed but a boys’ culture tends to dominate somewhat. Not too academically pressured. Sport is a major focus of school life. The senior school across the road dominates the views: a third go on, the rest are well-supported and advised. Talented artists could find their niche here; drama and music also well covered. Good for the robust and energetic.

Admissions Procedure:

At 7+ and 11+ (and intervening years if places are available). Registration and written computer based assessments in English, Maths and Reasoning. Prospective pupils spend assessment day at the school.

Children go on to:

Most to Cranleigh; some to Charterhouse, Eton, Wellington – many with scholarships.
