Samba Swirl got the huge thumbs up.

Froyo (or frozen yoghurt) is the in-thing and Samba Swirl has got it spot on.  The flavours change daily and they tweet them in the morning.  It’s self-service and pay by weight - a great idea because you can mix and match and go heavy or light on toppings.  The majority of the flavours are low fat or fat free. (Typically the chestnut one I liked was not!). And on Friday there’s always a dairy free option. My 3 kids’ eyes were out on stalks at the vast array of toppings. Naturally they bypassed the healthy fruit, coulis and nut toppings and piled their cups high with smarties, jelly babies, choc chips, cookies, brownies, gummy bears…. More a pudding than a healthy snack! Not surprisingly, Samba Swirl got the huge thumbs up.

Samba Swirl, 23 Islington Green, London N1. Open daily from 11am to 11pm  www.sambaswirl.co.uk for branches
