The Elves and the Shoemaker
Adapted by Violet Philpott
The Little Angel Theatre presents their classic production of THE ELVES AND THE SHOEMAKER for ages 3 and up from 17 May – 29 June 2008.
The kind shoemaker is poor and cannot afford to pay the rent on his shop. With his final pennies he buys just enough leather for one last pair of shoes and cuts out the pattern before bed. During the night an amazing pair of shoes is made, but by whom?
This well-known story is brought to life with glove puppets and music. This enchanting and intimate show using only one puppeteer, Anthony Best, will appeal to children and adults alike.
“Puppetry is not just popular, appearing in everything from The Lord of the Rings to The Lion King, it is positively hip” (The Times – The Knowledge, 2007)
“As with everything the Little Angel seems to do, this is an expertly devised and performed show…another little gem” (Islington Gazette – Splish Splash 2006, directed by Chris Leith)
