National Eczema Week

Eczema is an inflammatory condition which can be helped with a diet rich in Essential Fatty Acids (EFAs). Cut down on saturated fats (animal fats and fats that go solid at room temperature) and increase unsaturated fats – olive, sunflower, avocado oil. You can also supplement with an EFA supplement (eye q or BioCare’s Junior DHA & EPA are good).

Since some research has linked eczema with digestive issues, it may be useful to visit a nutritionist. The National Eczema Society is promoting the theme “Hold a Hand for Eczema”, which aims to change the way children with eczema are perceived and dealt with in schools.

Call 0800 0891122 or visit www.eczema.org to order a free Schools Pack. www.healthy-house.co.uk is a fantastic website, full of products and information related to eczema and allergies.
