I don't know if it is my age but I'm getting more and more worried about
health things. I'm fair and I have moles and freckles and for a while I've
had a niggling feeling that I wanted to get them all looked at for once and
for all. We all know the scary skin cancer figures that make it the most
common cancer in the uk.  So I felt liked I'd ticked a huge, virtuous box
when I made my way to Argyll Street just near Liberty one morning.

The clinic itself is friendly. I saw the head nurse Meghan, (an Australian-always
reassuringly knowledgeable when it comes to the Sun) I stripped off to my
underwear and Meghan methodically worked from head to toe looking at
everything through a sort of microscope thing.  I was a bit flummoxed when
she asked if the red discolouration  on my scalp was causing me any
discomfort.  It took a while to realise it was face paint I¹d received from
a rather over-zealous daughter the day before.  

All was very quick and business like. I had a couple of suspect moles. One that was not regular. Although I have to say to me looked perfectly fine. Meghan took a photo
(a much more deep and scientific one than with a normal camera a digital
imaging system, to screen moles for early cancer invisible to the naked
eye.) and sent it off for analysis. The next day Meghan called me, at the
moment no treatment is needed but that we should keep and eye on it and
booked me in in two months time for another photo to be done for a
comparison - I'm awaiting that appointment and although I'm a bit nervous
about it.

I'm so glad to be on top of it as much as I can.   It is a very painless way to keep on top of your skin health.
