We adored the Peter Pan sound pop-up book that is just published in time for Christmas by Templar Publishing.  Magical evocative sounds on the turning of each page. The tick tock of the crocodile's clock and call of the lost boys.

Don't Dip your Chips in your Drink Kate, by Carol Hart, illustrated by Leigh Hodgkinson was wonderful. 

Utterly bliss as a present book for 7+ is Shapeshifters: Tales from Ovid's Metamorphoses. by Adrian Mitchell and Alan Lee

We couldn't ignore The Wonder of Whiffling by Adam Jacot de Boinod. Published by Penguin as a Stocking Filler about the English vocab from Anglo-Saxon to Trailer Park Slang, it is perfect for grown up Father Christmas and will provide hours of fun.

On the subject of books, don't miss the exhibition at the Illustration Cupboard on now with wonderful original illustrations and signed books.  Book lovers' heaven.
