The Lost Voice is a new Southbank Centre production aimed for children aged four to eight. It tells the story of Whisper – a shy little girl with hardly enough voice to be heard in the classroom, at home or anywhere else. Encouraged by a cryptic note from her doctor and a page from the “Book of Everything”, Whisper sets off on an adventurous journey to find her voice. On the way, she is swallowed by a lion, has a bumpy ride on a grumpy horse, rescues a crew of stranded Norwegian fishermen, swims with a dolphin and flies on an eagle’s back.
The Lost Voice is a kind of ‘road movie’ for kids, full of noises and sounds, song and live beatboxing, with ample opportunity for the young audience to join in.
