Emily and I visited Florence at the end of January to go to Pitti Bimbo, the children’s fashion fair. There is so much to look forward to this autumn/winter: rose pink leads the way, both for romantic floating dresses and top, but also in the jeans and streetwear. Tartan and shiny jackets are still on trend, and animal prints feature in many designer collections. The first collection from Paul Smith Junior is ahighlight: expect trademark Paul Smith panache and, of course, some stripes, and, surpisingly, some wonderful prints for girls. Another surprise is Marie Chantal, until now the epitome of traditional clothes, who breaks from the ranks to include some charmingly innovative clothes for older boys. We like her Moose is Crossing t-shirt. For babies, Album di Famiglia is the brand to be born into with the softest wools and cool styles.  Watch this space.
