Tuesday 12 April marks the 50th anniversary of Yuri Gagarin becoming the first man to travel into space, launching to orbit aboard the Vostok 3KA-3 spacecraft.
To celebrate the anniversary, the Science Museum has a programme of activities over the Easter period. Meet Gregarin himself (or someone who looks just like him!) 12.30pm and 2pm 12–14 and 18–20 April; check out a new show – Russian to Space – that both celebrates Gagarin’s epic journey and tells the fascinating stories of satellites and space stations and watch First Orbit a new flim that recreates Gagarin’s mission.
