Admissions Procedure: Boys visit a year prior to entry and are then ivited for informal assessement (maths, comprehension etc) and interview in the spring term before they are due to start. Broad range of ability.

Children go on to: Mainly to Eton, Harrow, and Radley (often with scholarships) but also to many other public schools - Marlborough, Rugby, Shrewsbury, Winchester etc. "You've got get boys into the school that's right fot them," says head.

Further Information: Six miles south of Oxford in pretty countryside village. 26 acres of well-kept grounds and playing fields, complete with 19-metre indoor swimming pool, squash court, six all-weather tennis courts and even a nine-hole golf course (a golf pro visits everyday.) School fizzes with activity from dawn to dusk. Prehaps un-usually in this day and age, pupils aren't allowed to bring GamesBoys, iPods, mobile phones etc to school. They don't wacth TV either- apart from a film on Saturday night or unmissable sporting events. All board.
