After an £83m transformation the brand new Design Museum has opened its doors in High Street Kensington.

At over 9,500sqm the museum, with its spectacular atrium, houses inspiring contemporary designs beneath its undulating paraboloid roof.

The central space is lofty and airy - run up and down the wide steps, pick your favourite design 'icon' from the crowdsourced wall (light bulb, bicycle, tube map, swan vesta matches, marmite, oyster card....) and drop in to see what the designers in residence are up to.

The temporary exhibitions will engage older kids especially and the library must be one of the best places for quiet contemplation around. A fantastic addition to the London scene.

Design Gallery: Designer Maker User, Sackler Library and Archive and Swarovski Foundation Centre for Learning.

Great for kids:
