Boggis, Bunce and Bean, three greedy, smelly, horrid farmers hate the cunning Mr Fox.
Mr Fox is smart, clever and rather fantastic, but he doesn’t realise how determined the farmers are to get revenge. Can he hatch a plan to save his family and friends? Can they outrun the diggers and outsmart the farmers? And can Rabbit shut up long enough not to give the game away?a&u review
"Lucky Hammersmith! Fantastic Mr Fox is at the Lyric until the 19th February before embarking on a national tour. This is a delightful, witty adaptation of Roald Dahl’s classic, enriching the original story with fabulous modern embellishments and a wonderful musical score. Mr Fox is a winsome alpha male who suffers a mid-life crisis after losing his fabulous tail. He realises he can’t actually do everything by himself but needs his friends and family to work with him as a team. The hilarious rag-tag band of animals will have you chuckling throughout, Boggis, Bunce and Bean’s attempt to ‘become the fox’ will split your sides. Too funny! At the interval our faces were aching from smiling so much. The script and lyrics are a masterclass in adapting a classic. The staging, costumes and set are ingenious. Book your tickets now, it’s definitely one NOT to miss"
