Don't think the National Gallery is just for tourists. The Trafalgar Square landmark is packed with wonderful works and has an excellent programme of free family activities.

Family Sundays 11am, repeated 2pm. Ages 5–11.

Magic Carpet Storytelling Suns, 10.30–11am, 11.30am–noon. Under 5s. Fly away on the magic carpet as it lands in front of a different painting each week. Junior sessions tie in with the themes of family workshops.
