The Mayor's Thames Festival
Dates: 11-12 Sept
Times: 12pm-10pm
Price: Free

London's largest free arts festival is a spectacular open-air celebration of London and its river, from the London Eye to Tower Bridge and beyond.

Southwark Bridge is closed to traffic and trasformed for a celebratory harvest event with fabulous food, drink and dancing. This year's main theme is bread. Wheat grown across the capital will be harvested, thrashed, milled and baked on the bridge, a roof will be thatched and corn dollies made to adorn the tables for the Feast.

Heaps of family activities including a travelling art circus with a kinetic water wheel.

Sunday night ends with a night carnival and fireworks.
