Dig for Victory: War on Waste
After its successful first year last summer, The Churchill Museum and Cabinet War Rooms’ allotment is back in St James Park from 22 May.
The organic allotment will be tended by school groups and community volunteers. There is an apiary; a wormery; a bat house; bug hotels; and practical advice on how to recycle ordinary household items. There will be a family weekend launch on 24 and 25 May; ‘Make-do and Mend’ half-term activities from 27-30 May; and lots going on over the summer.
Recycling Week

Arts and crafts activities from Ginger Cat Productions and performances of ‘A Tale of Two Stickies’, a play set on a rubbish dump featuring an array of characters including two rats who are worried that increased recycling will leave them without a home.
Wildlife and Gardening Week
25–29th Aug, 11am–4pm
Arts and craft sessions linked to local wildlife. Watch performances of a new play based on the need for different bugs and the part they play in the world around us.
