Brass rubbing was a fashionable Victorian pastime. Visitors to churches wanted to take home a memento of their experience and brass rubbing was their inspired solution. From magical unicorns and mythical dragons to medieval knights, we have a wide range of replica brasses for you to choose from. Once you have chosen your brass our team is on hand to demonstrate how it is done and then it is up to you to get creative.
We’ve paired brass rubbing with our St Martin’s tea. Enjoy a selection of homemade sandwiches, scones served with cream and jam, delicious cakes and a pot of tea or coffee. Brass Rubbing is available every day, why not visit us on a Monday, Tuesday or Friday at 1pm to experience a free lunchtime concert in our historic church?
