Traditional prep, expert at feeding boys who are prepared to work hard to the leading public schools. Plenty of play: art, DT, pottery, masses of music, drama and daily sport in extraordinary facilities (including croquet lawn, rifle and pistol ranges). Outstanding chess. Freedom to roam, build dens, play in the treehouse and on the rowing lake. Good for active go-getters. Not for the quiet retiring type.

Admissions Procedure:

November entrance test for 7+ entry. Early registration advised for day places.

Children go on to:

Charterhouse (five minutes away) is the most popular, closely followed by Tonbridge, Eton and Wellington, then a couple each to Winchester, Cranleigh, Harrow, Marlborough, Sherborne, and Bradfield.
