Home School

Let's face it schools are unlikely to be going back next term. This summer will be exam-free but it's still important to keep our children's education on track and those brains whirring.  It is a tough gig for parents overseeing lessons for varying-aged children while juggling their own work. The good news is there are professionals out there who can help and we've gathered together some recommendations:

  • Keeping children learning – BONAS MACFARLANE has a highly developed digital platform and a team of world-class tutors, who all regularly teach online. Their team of tutors, consultants and education experts is working flat out to keep children learning through this unsettled period.

  • COLLINS has made hundreds of resources for 3 to 16 year olds available for free at, including ebooks, activity sheets and book PDFs. They are adding new resources here all the time so well worth taking a look.

  • Looking for some fun and games to help with maths? CURIOUS KID is offering 1-1 online tutoring for school years 5 to 9.

  • EATON TUTORS offer tailored one-to-one online tuition via Zoom. Following a conversation about where your child needs to be in September they will create a strategic plan for next term.

  • EDUCATION BEYOND are starting an online school for KS1 and KS2. Parents can make contact via the website for further details. Given current demand, if interested it would wise to apply as soon as possible as classes are limited to 10 children per class.

  • To learn more about the many online learning options at FIGTREE LEARNING please be in contact with the team.  With a large international client base they are well-schooled in immersive interactive sessions.

  • LINDAMOOD BELL offer one-to-one instruction online and are geared up to help those parents feeling overwhelmed by the transition to online school and ensure that children stay on top of their literacy skill and academic performance.

  • ROLE MODELS are running really fun Online Life Skills Courses every weekday to support your child’s learning and development at home. (For 25% discount on online group courses use ONLINE25 coupon at checkout.)  All their courses are developed specifically for 6-7 and 8-11 year olds and are packed with engaging content and calming tools to help them build Confidence and Resilience and develop a Growth Mindset. Customised courses can be found on their website.

  • SIMPLY LEARNING TUITION have long offered online tutoring and many of their tutors use the excellent BitPaper platform which acts as an online whiteboard.  Simply Learning also has some invaluable advice on their website about the current situation and how to use online tutoring effectively.   Plus, SLT are offering FREE online tuition for children of Key Workers.

  • YELLOWBIRD EDUCATION are bringing their popular education workshops online throughout the Easter holidays. Content is carefully designed to ensure children are engaged and motivated whilst providing interactive learning and regular feedback from experienced teachers. The friendly Yellowbird team are always pleased to answer questions and advise on suitable workshops.

P.S. For those already signed up for MATHNASIUM in Crouch End or Clapham, they have brought forward their internet-based mathnasium@home which will look and feel very close to a real centre visit.  Your child will pick up where they left of with their current learning plan and experience the same level of interaction with the same team of instructors.  For more information go to
