We are exciting to share with you some fantastic hotels, resorts and villas which are new for 2019. For a sneak preview of some great new places to stay with the family this year look no further.
If you’d love to ‘fly and flop’ in a tropical paradise but frankly know the kids will need activities to keep them from killing each other, then the new Well-Being Journey for Families at the Cheval Blanc in the Maldives could be just the ticket. The programme brings families together for a daily sporting activity such as Family Team Training or a Beach Obstacle course. And once the kids are suitably tired out you can hit the amazing spa!
New for 2019, Powder Byrne are offering an exciting Alpine Sun programme in the idyllic Swiss resort of Lenzerheide, throughout July and August. We think families will love the many adrenalin-fuelled sports and family friendly activities on offer, not to mention the first-class wellness facilities. Activities on offer include mountain biking, water sports on the Heidsee lake, visits to the Pradaschier rope park and an exhilarating white water rafting trip in Ilanz, the ‘Swiss Grand Canyon’.
New for summer 2019 are these fabulous luxury lodges in Laugharne on the south coast of Carmarthenshire, Wales. We think they will be perfect for families looking for a self-catering option who want to escape the city. Overlooking the unspoilt golden sands, the views are said to have inspired many artists, poets and writers including Dylan Thomas. Besides the beach there's also a wonderful infinity pool, spa and gym plus a restaurant and bar if you don't feel like cooking. Each apartment comes with its own private hot tub, which sounds heavenly.
Florida has always been a great place to take the kids and in March 2019 the Isla Bella Beach Resort in Florida Keys adds another excellent family option to the list. With one mile of waterfront and a sandy beach on your doorstep plus five oceanfront pools and plenty of water sports on offer it won't be difficult to entertain the kids. For the adults there is a dreamy spa and a fitness centre. With ocean views from every room, we think this will be a hit with families wanting to combine the theme parks of Orlando with a more relaxing beach break.

Family favourites Mark Warner are opening a brand-new resort on the western coast of mainland Greece close to the pretty Paleros village. On a beautiful beach, Paleros Beach Resort will open in May 2019 and will offer superb facilities including tennis, cycling and excellent watersports as well as kids clubs that cater for children from four months. Expect all the family trimming MW are famous for.
Just opened in December 2018, the Wattura Resort & Spa in Sri Lanka is the island’s first wellness and family boutique resort. Located just under a 30-minute drive from the International Airport in Negombo, Wattura comprises 27 villas and suites located on an idyllic beach. We think that the offering for children is amazing with a huge 7,200 sq ft kids zone including an indoor retro arcade game experience, pool & football tables, toddler lounge, mini theatre and a water playground not to mention heaps of water sports too.
For the kind of holiday where you never need to leave the resort head to the Ikos Aria. Stretching over 47 acres and fringed by the dazzling Kos coastline, there is something for everyone at this fantastic new hotel which will open in May 2019. A state-of-the-art spa, eight restaurants, a complimentary kids' club for ages 4-17 (plus a creche fo little ones at an extra cost) and tonnes of sporting activities, we think will make it the perfect family getaway.
