Picture Book Adaptations

There are some fantastic shows coming up this festive season for a first experience of theatre. Full of song, dance and festive storytelling, there should be enough here to keep your little ones happy and in the festive mood.

Oi Frog & Friends! at Lyric Shaftesbury

29 November–5 January. We cannot wait for the premiere of the latest picture book adaptation from the team that brought us the Gruffalo. Original music, songs, puppets, rhymes and general chaos! 

The Snail and the Whale at Apollo Theatre

30 November–5 January. One of the very best of the Donaldson/Scheffler adaptations.

The Polar Express at Bush Theatre

Come dressed in your pyjamas for a storytelling event bringing the magic of Christmas to life. Board Chris Van Allsburg's Polar Express and listen to the story of the little boy on Christmas Eve who takes a magical journey to the North Pole.

There's also a chance to meet the man himself in his writing room and tell him what you would like for Christmas. 9-13 December, tickets from £10-£25

Goldilocks and the Three Bears at Jackson's Lane

30 November–24 December. Follow the naughty Goldilocks into the woods as she seeks the bowl of porridge that isn’t too hot, and isn’t too cold, but is “just right.”

Stick Man at Leicester Square Theatre
