What's on this weekend? Plan your family weekend with the kids with our round up of what's on in London 15th-16th December
We have heaps and heaps of inspiration for things to do in London this weekend. The following events are all a&u recommended and should be on everyone's radar. Click on the headers and links for more info and to book:
Father Christmas has lost his map of his delivery route! Thankfully Albert’s Orchestra has found it but they need help to return it to him ahead of the big day! Zip around the world on an orchestral adventure to track down Father Christmas. Singing, dancing and a full symphony orchestra will bring the Christmassy adventure to life. Saturday, 15th December. 11am and 2.45pm. Ages 3+.
Have yourself a horrible little Christmas at Dulwich Picture Gallery this weekend! Join Horrible Histories for an exciting workshop and explore how Christmas was celebrated in the time of the Tudors, Victorian era, and the Dark Ages. Act out different scenes, sing silly songs, and have a horrible time! Before or afterwards, you can also join in the Horrible Christmas Crafting drop-in. Perfect for ages 4–12.
Settle in for a cosy morning of festive storytelling on The Old Vic stage with children’s author and poet Michael Rosen. He will be reading from Bah! Humbug! and Unexpected Twist: An Oliver Twisted Tale, his retellings of two timeless Dickens classics. There will also be the chance to get your very own book signed at the end. Saturday, 15th December at 11am.
Join the Discover team during the festive season for an adventure through Chris Van Allsburg’s Polar Express. Climb aboard a train to the North Pole to meet some very special people and find out what happens if you truly believe…. This story time session comes with a free gift of The Polar Express book for each child. Suitable for ages 3–7.
We have also found a little something for mums with tired shopping feet ! If you find yourself trawling up and down Regents Street this weekend, pop into the Regent's Street Winter Retreat and relax with mindful yoga sessions, gingerbread workshops, grooming treatments and gift-wrapping. Open 14/15 Dec, 11am-7pm.
