Chemistry Family Festival at the Science Museum

Head to the Science Museum this Saturday and take part in chemistry-themed activities led by real life STEM professionals. Book tickets for Mendeleev's Dream where kids can sing the whole periodic table, check out the Cracking Chemistry live show or investigate some 'Chem-Mystery'. Saturday, 23rd March. 12–4pm. Suitable for ages 5+.

Romeo and Juliet at the Globe Theatre

Packed with love, family feuds and a dose of comedy, Romeo and Juliet is a full-scale, fast-paced 90 minute performance in the Globe Theatre designed to introduce children and families to Shakespeare. Closing this weekend so grab your tickets now. Tickets: £10–£15 or £5 for standing. Ages 11+.

Yamato at Peacock Theatre

The Japanese drumming troupe is back. See their incredible strength in action as they play the gigantic Odaiko drums. to 31 March. Tickets from £15. Ages 5+.

LAST CHANCE TO SEE Home Futures at the Design Museum

Cosy up in this super soft egg nest sofa or perch on a polyurethane rock pouffe! With vacuum packed chairs, a transparent bubble mobile office and a chain-mail mesh sofa there is so much to explore in this fab exhibition at the Design Museum. Closing this Sunday. Tickets: £16 adults, £8 kids, under 6s free.

Learn to Play Day

Supported by Jools Holland, and run by charity Music for All, Learn to Play Day sees music shops, venues and schools all across London offer free music lessons this weekend to get people of all ages and abilities playing a musical instrument. Yamaha Music London in Wardour Street, W1 will be giving away free taster music lessons with professional music teachers during a fun-filled family weekend. It is going to be an amazing way to discover and explore a great selection of musical instruments. Other London venues include Early Music Shop on Denmark Street, PMT London in Clerkenwell and The DaCapo Music Foundation on Hilton Avenue.
