Taking up a lance and sword, Don Quixote sets out on a hilarious journey across medieval Spain, defending the helpless and vanquishing the wicked.
We are looking forward to taking older kids to the first London run of RSC's take on the Cervantes' classic. It promises to be a 'joyous, music-filled' show. Recommended for ages 8+. Opens this Saturday and runs until the start of February.
Popular face paint brand, Snazaroo, has teamed up with Waterstones to run a series of spooktacular, free, events to get families in the Halloween spirit.
Snazaroo’s face painters will be on hand to transform little angels into little monsters, sharing hints and tips so parents can re-create the look on Halloween night. Once looking the part little ones can enjoy children’s Halloween stories from classics such as Funnybones and Meg and Mog, to newer ghostly tales including Ten Little Monsters. Saturday, 27th October 11am-4pm at Waterstones Piccadilly. Completely free - pre-register by clicking the title.
The incredibly popular family concert is back this Saturday at the Queen Elizabeth Hall. Go on a time-travelling adventure with 33 musicians and discover the many characters of the orchestra. After the concert, say hello to the players and try out their instruments. Starts at 11.30am. Perfect for ages 5-11.
Pop into the Barbican Shop this Saturday (between 1–2.30pm) and design your own 'Face House' inspired by Kazumasa Yamashita's Japanese landmark. Using a selection of paper houses, colourful shapes and stickers you can craft your own dream home.
Barbican will also launch Charlotte Trounce's My Modern House, an activity book for budding designers filled with drawing, colouring and sticker activities, alongside profiles of famous architects and the homes they created.
Perfect for kids, families and people of all ages to kick off the Winter Season! Children can enjoy the Kids' Arts, Craft and Entertainment zone in the Neilson’s Lodge where they’ll be joined by Tootles & Nibs for winter sports themed games and activities, a winter selfie station, arts & crafts and face painting! New this year is the Snow+Rock Climbing wall - climb this digital wall and see if you can beat the lights. It will even respond to your moves!
Find out frightful facts about some truly grisly creatures at ZSL London Zoo this weekend, including who’s got the largest, slimiest eyeball, and which species of animal can endure fire, ice and radiation and even survive in outer space, plus many more monstrous truths! Catch the show everyday at 2pm in the amphitheatre. Until 28th October.
