What's on this weekend? Plan your family weekend with the kids with our round up of what's on in London 29th–30th June

We have heaps and heaps of inspiration for things to do in London this weekend. The following events are all a&u recommended and should be on everyone's radar. Click on the headers and links for more info and to book: 

London Hong Kong Dragon Boat Festival 2019

Head to London's Regatta Centre this Sunday to see some spectacular action out on the water provided by more than 40 competing clubs (from 10am to 5pm), followed by the presentation of 6 winners’ cups. On land, you can try all kinds of South Asian cuisine, with each country in the region represented, meanwhile entertainment including live music will be provided on the East West Festival stage (showcasing new artists from the East and West), martial arts displays, and traditional Chinese lion dancing. Sunday, 30th June. 

Meet the Victorians at the Tower Bridge

Happy 125th Birthday Tower Bridge! If you are planning on visiting this weekend to celebrate this big milestone, you can see costumed performers re-enacting scenes which (might have) happened during the construction of the Bridge including the divers who dug the Bridge's foundations and the very first woman to have worked at Tower Bridge. Fun! Free with general admission. All weekend.

Peter & the Wolf Live at the Royal Albert Hall

Meet a hero, a duck and a wolf, in a fascinating story about a boy called Peter! The Royal Philharmonic Orchestra will be performing this Oscar-winning animation's score at this special screening at the Royal Albert Hall. Ages 7+. Sunday, 30 June at 2.30pm. Tickets: £17.63.

Cirque du Soleil: Toruk at the O2

Cirque du Soleil will be taking over the O2 for four days only with this new show inspired by James Cameron’s movie AVATAR. The colourful world of Pandora will be depicted through multimedia projections, massive set-pieces and the largest collection of puppetry in Cirque du Soleil's history. The UK debut runs 26–30 June.

Giant Toy Story Funfair at Hamleys

From spinning wheels to puppet shows, Nerf targets to piñatas, jugglers, performers and parades – there’s something for everyone to enjoy this weekend as Hamleys turns into a giant funfair inspired by Toy Story 4. Winners of the games taking place will have the chance to win some of the brand-new Toy Story 4 toys. The store will also be hosting a LEGO Toy Story hunt - find the hidden clues for the chance to win a limited edition signed Toy Story 4 poster! Make sure to check out the exclusive LEGO model of Buzz Lightyear too while you're there.
