New World Gallery at the Horniman

Head to the Horniman this weekend to see their new permanent gallery. You can spot diverse and peculiar objects and there is a touch-sensitive ocean floor and talking totem poles! Definitely worth a visit!

The Tiger Who Came to Tea at Piccadilly Theatre

The Tiger Who Came To Tea returns to the West End for a very special summer season, celebrating its 10th anniversary on stage and 50 years of Britain’s best-loved picture book! Tickets from £10. Recommended for ages 3+. 28 June–9 September.

Summer Splash returns to Lee Valley White Water Centre

Families can cool off from the heatwave with a day of water-fuelled fun at Lee Valley White Water Centre’s Summer Splash event. Soak up the action both on and off the water with exciting activities, entertainment and free games including Foot Golf, beach volleyball, an 8 metre climbing wall and inflatable obstacle courses. There will also be the chance to try out the venues new Water Wipe Out course and SUPZILLA – a gigantic stand up paddle board for up to 10 people. Free. Sunday, 1 July. 11am–4pm.

Comida Fest at Cutty Sark Gardens

Head to Greenwich for a free family festival celebrating Latin American culture! Families can try foods from Mexico, Colombia, Venezuela, Brazil, Peru and more, listen to DJs and live music. Kids can join a Spanish sing along or create their very own carnival mask. Plus face-painting, Capoeira show and dance workshops. 30th June–1st July.

Thumbelina at Little Angel Theatre

Norwich Puppet Theatre will be performing the Hans Christian Andersen's tale of a girl no bigger than a thumb this weekend at Little Angel Theatre. Children can follow Thumbelina as she encounters a frog, mouse, mole and swallow. 30th June–1st July. Tickets: £13 adults, £11 children. Suitable for ages 3–8.
