School of Rock The Musical
SCHOOL OF ROCK, the hit Broadway musical from Andrew Lloyd Webber, continues to wow the West End.
Based on the iconic, hit movie, this irresistible new musical follows Dewey Finn, a failed, wannabe rock star who decides to earn an extra bit of cash by posing as a supply teacher at a prestigious prep school. There he turns a class of straight –A pupils into a guitar-shredding, bass-slapping mind-blowing rock band. But can he get them to the Battle of the Bands without their parents and the school’s headmistress finding out?
review of School of Rock
"How could anyone fail to love the tale of a bad-boy Rock musician posing as a teacher in a cold and stiff private school, transforming broken hearts into freed spirits in his own wayward style. The Julian Fellowes book and well known film starring Jack Black is brought to the London stage, from Broadway, with a dancing-in-your-seat rock musical score by Andrew Lloyd Weber and real, yes real musician children. The joy of seeing these 10-12 year olds perform as a band live on stage to such an impressive level is only surpassed by the hilarious antics of the teacher. It was laugh-out loud funny in part, moving -to-tears in others and had us all standing in ovation at the end. A great new addition to the London West End and a fantastic family outing (for children 8+)."
